Looking Away.

Looking Away

She knows that she stares. She stares at the trees along the road, the couples holding hands, the children who smile at her, and even the elderly who've lost the strength to stand. But sometimes, she looks away. Like when she sees him with other girls or when their eyes meet for the briefest moment. She will look away. She looks away just like how Mary looks away when Matthew appears with Lavinia. She is not jealous, oh no! She is not. She is simply unsure how to feel. She doesn't want to hope, but her friends say to not lose hope. They say they match, but she is skeptical about it. He is not perfect, far from it. But oh how confused she is! She is afraid that she'll become one assuming darling, very much like someone she knows. But if it's written in the stars and it's all in the cards, then maybe she'll win this round in the game of love.
